The Age of Responsibility

In the world there are different beliefs, but one in which i believe is the age of responsibility. When people talk about the age of responsibility the first thing that they think is in adults, but , do we need to be adults to be responsible?.

I believe that responsibility is is literally our ability to respond.  Is a choice we make to be responsible. In the path of growing up, adolescents have a range of rights and responsibilities.

When i was 16 years old i came to the Unite States for the first time. I used to live with my aunt, uncle, and my two cousins. I had many responsibilities because my aunt and uncle work all the time. I had to take care of my cousins and myself. I had the responsibility of an adult; basically, i was like a mother to them. During the time i spent with my cousins, i had the opportunity to make decisions for them and myself.

My routine for every day was going to school, cleaning, cooking, and doing homework. I had to do a lot of things that they couldn't do because it was my responsibility. Sometimes i had to choice between friend and family, but every time i chose my family because is the most important thing in our lives.

My whole life change,i sacrifice part of my life to become a responsible person. Sometimes my friends invited me to hang out,but i always say no, because i knew that i had responsibilities waiting for me.

I believe that the age of responsibility is the period of time were teenagers are capable of making they own decisions and except the consequences. To be a responsible person we need to know the differences between right and wrong. Each decision that we take has consequences whether good or bad, and we have to learn how to live with this consequences.

One day my aunt told me that the age doesn't matter to be a responsible person, the thing that matter is knowing the how to make good decisions and do the best in our lives.
I believe that taking responsibilities changes our lives. I believe in the age of responsibility.
